CinemAsia Film Festival in Amsterdam, 6 - 11 March 2018

Raman Hui's Monster Hunt 2 was chosen as the opening film at the CinemAsia Film Festival 2018, held at the Filmtheater Kriterion and the Rialto in Amsterdam on 6-11 March 2018 with the support of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Brussels (HKETO, Brussels).

Speaking at the festival's opening ceremony, Deputy Representative of HKETO, Brussels, Miss Fiona Chau, highlighted Hong Kong's success in filmmaking and said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will continue to nurture more professional talents for the film industry through the Government-financed Film Development Fund to assist them to meet market demands and to foster the long-term development of the local film industry.

She noted that Tam Wai-ching's In Your Dreams, which would be screened in competition, was one of the winners of the First Feature Film Initiative of Create Hong Kong, a scheme launched in 2013 to help young filmmakers produce their first film with funding from the Film Development Fund.

Three more Hong Kong feature films were screened at the Festival, namely Jonathan Li's The Brink, Doris Wong's New Turn and Wong Tsz-ying's Losing Sight of a Longed Place.  Tam Wai-ching and Doris Wong attended the Festival and met with the audience after screening of their films.
